Biography: Sandy Tupper is the Assistant Director for Education Abroad Programs in the Office for Education Abroad providing leadership and direction for all functions related to the day-to-day management of faculty-directed, direct-enroll, exchange, and provider programs, as well as first-year education abroad programming. Sandy supervises the EA Programs Team and serves as the Team’s lead liaison to the EA Business Office and Marketing and Communications team. She also works with the Associate Director on new program development as well as ongoing quality improvement of program management processes and procedures. Additionally, Sandy supports the creation and dissemination of monthly communications to college-based stakeholders such as program directors and the Advisory Council on Education Abroad (ACEA) membership. Sandy began her work in the field of international education at Lansing Community College working with the Japan Adventure and Japan Horizon Programs. She later worked on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) program as a coordinator for international relations in a Japanese government office in Kagawa Prefecture. Sandy holds a BA in Interdisciplinary studies and MA in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University and brings over 30 years of experience in working in education abroad. In her free time Sandy likes to work in her garden, travel and spend time with her family.
