Information Meetings

Information meetings are intended to introduce prospective students to the particulars of your program.

  • Academics: What is the focus of your program and what courses offered? Do you have a syllabus you can share?
  • Location: Where does it take place and why?
  • Itinerary: What are the dates of the program and what excursions are planned?
  • Housing: Where will students be staying?
  • Requirements: What are the eligibility requirements to participate?
  • Cost: How much will it cost to participate?  Use your finalized budget as a guide when quoting costs.

Students with questions about the application process and financial aid should be referred to the EA Advising Center or you can ask for a Peer Adviser to attend your meeting to help with these questions.

It's recommended that you hold two or more meetings the semester prior to your education abroad program. Meetings before breaks are especially effective so that prospective participants can discuss plans with their families.

Be sure to contact the Office for Education Abroad when you've scheduled a meeting so we can help you promote it to students. Meetings are publicized on the EA website, the MSU adviser listserv, the bulletin board outside the Office for Education Abroad, and social media (as time permits).  Please email Kyle Anderson with the following details:

  • Name of your program
  • Date and time of the meeting
  • Location for the meeting
