Going for a Cheetah Walk at Running Wild Cheetah Conservation in Rustenburg, South Africa
We were taking the cheetahs for a walk and teaching them that zebras are not prey species for them to chase.
Proudly raising the "Spartans Will" flag in Tanzania at the top of the highest peak in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro, the tallest freestanding mountain in the world.
After an incredible and enriching study abroad experience on the program Technology Solutions in Africa, I capped the journey by summitting Mt. Kilimanjaro. When I finally reached the top, standing on the roof of Africa at 19,341 feet (5,895 meters), I felt both small and infinite all at once.
I’m grateful to MSU and the Office for Education Abroad for making this journey possible. As a Spartan, I strive to explore and understand a world beyond my own. My time in Tanzania didn’t just teach me about technology or culture, it helped shape who I am. Being a Spartan means seeking out the world beyond my own, pushing boundaries, embracing new cultures, and saying yes to big challenges.
