Event Details:

Did you know? Every workplace has tasks that need to be completed but are often unrewarded with raises and promotions, and women are the ones that most often do these thankless tasks. This contributes to women's work overload and slows their career advancement. Instead, women need to be empowered to say NO to unrewarded work.

The Eli Broad College of Business and College of Social Science are partnering with the Department of Economics, and the Center for Gender in Global Context, to bring Lise Vesterlund, one of the authors of The No Club: Putting a Stop to Women’s Dead-End Work to the campus of MSU. Lise will bring strategies for crafting an effective no, maximizing promotable tasks, and avoiding overload.
