Michael Alberts has compiled a detailed journal of his trip to the Soviet Union as a student in 1967, having studied Russian politics with Alfred G. Meyer at Michigan State University.

A loyal MSU alumnus, and Detroit native, he has a range of interesting photos, artifacts and memories/reflections from his time at Leningrad State University. This early "study abroad" experience brings together the political climate of the Soviet Union and America during the 1960's.

Alberts was on campus last month as the featured speaker for the Center for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies Brown Bag Speaker Series.

The title of his book is "1967 Russian Language Program at Leningrad State University" and can be found at the MSU Library (http://catalog.lib.msu.edu/record=b12201943).
