Check-in

Program directors and other exhibitors may arrive at the Breslin Center beginning at 12:00 pm and should enter through the SW Harrison Gate. Office for Education Abroad staff will be available to direct you to your assigned table.

The Expo takes place this year from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. We hope the new hours will allow exhibitors to staff their tables for the entire duration of the event. Exhibitors who do not show up, or leave early, may have their participation revoked at next year's expo.

All display materials are the responsibility of the exhibitor and must be taken with you at the end of the expo. The Office for Education Abroad will recycle or throw away items left behind.

Table displays

The Office for Education Abroad encourages you to create the best display at this year’s Education Abroad Expo!  Not only will your creative efforts attract more students to your table, you’ll also be eligible to win* a special gift basket filled with a wonderful assortment of gourmet delights from around the world!

Here are some ideas for creating an original and effective display:

  • Display PHOTOS from your program

  • Exhibit interesting ARTIFACTS
  • Distribute INFO SHEETS about your program
  • Have MEDIA items such as newspapers, magazines or postcards from abroad
  • Offer FOOD items relevant to the region where your program takes place

  • Select MUSIC to play from your program’s region
  • Display or wear costumes or CLOTHING from the host culture
  • Drape FLAGS from your destination abroad over your table
  • Furnish actual ITINERARIES from last year’s program
  • Staff your table with PAST PARTICIPANTS or EXCHANGE STUDENTS

*MSU students, staff members, and/or outside associates (determined by EA) will walk through the expo and judge your display based on how informative, creative, and inviting it is for students. Winners will be announced at 4:30 pm and will be presented with their prize at that time.

NOTE: Items are not allowed to be taped to the walls of the Breslin Center. Please display materials on your table or via a self-supporting easel.
