More than 7,500 children in India will be vaccinated against measles thanks to a group of MSU students. After a study abroad experience at Shanti Ashram, a nongovernmental organization in Southern India dedicated to rural development, students created MSU Students Advancing International Development, or MSU SAID.

Sasha Masters-Jones knew her freshman year she wanted to study abroad in Japan. The interdisciplinary humanities and professional writing senior is one of 293 MSU students who made an Asian country her destination for study abroad in the 2008-09 school year.

Traveling is enjoyable for me, and I've likely traveled a little more than most people. I really love it, despite slight anxiety while on the airplane, and will jump at any chance to globetrot.

When Rob Hurtekant was studying in South Africa, he ran into some roadblocks. Literally. Sometimes when he crossed a street in Cape Town, there would be a curb cut on one side of the street, but not on the other. That wasn't helpful for a young man in a wheelchair.
